Extras
UNION — April 6: A man was stopped at South Montgomery Street and West Martindale Road for weaving and advised of the infraction.
The subject complied when told to exit the vehicle.
He denied drinking any alcohol and said he was coming from a friend's house where they were just chilling and hanging out.
The officer asked the subject why his breath smelled of alcohol if he hadn't been drinking. The man said he had two sips of beer and his friends thought it would be funny to pour beer all over him.
Sobriety tests were administered. During the one-leg stand the subject raised one knee up high, lifted his arms and bent his wrist. The subject stated, "I am the Karate Kid," when the officer explained that his foot should be six to eight inches off the ground. The subject was arrested on suspicion of operating a vehicle intoxicated, underage consumption and speeding.
