MIAMISBURG — David Kirby, whose prize-winning 2005 book laid out evidence contending that environmental toxins contribute to autism, will speak in Miamisburg on Saturday, June 14.
The 90-minute lecture beginning at 9 a.m. at the Holiday Inn, 31 Prestige Plaza Drive, is sponsored by Dayton Area Families for Effective Autism Treatment, an advocacy and support organization formed by parents of children with autism-spectrum disorders.

Kirby won the Investigative Reporters and Editors' Best Book award for "Evidence of Harm: Mercury in Vaccines and the Autism Epidemic: A Medical Controversy."
The federal government conceded in a February lawsuit settlement that vaccinating one girl against nine diseases in a single day contributed to her autism. All three presidential candidates support research into the link.
