A roundup of unusual
items from area police departments:
KETTERING — June 19: An officer stopped a female driver at Braddock Street and Olson Drive for a stop sign violation.
The girl, 16, had no driver's license. The passenger, her 18-year-old brother, said he was giving his sister her first driving lesson. He also was unlicensed.
Their mother called police just prior to the stop to report her vehicle stolen, but decided not to pursue charges of driving without consent.
The girl was arrested for unruly behavior. Her brother was arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

CLAYTON — June 23: A resident in the 6000 block of Taywood Road reported she was a victim of theft by deception.
The complainant ordered five iPhones from a female subject via iOffer.com.
She spoke with the subject by phone and was assured the devices were Apple iPhones.
The complainant received five "China copies" instead. She contacted her credit card company but was told her money wouldn't be refunded because it was labeled a cash transaction.
The subject told the complainant to mark the payment as a cash advance so her PayPal account wouldn't be limited. She paid $1,425 for the five phones.
