DAYTON — The death of a 4-month-old boy found about noon Wednesday, July 2, in a Jewelstone Terrace apartment appeared to be accidental, police said.

Dayton officers and fire medics responded to 3051 Jewelstone Drive on a report of a baby not breathing. Neighbors said they dialed 911 after hearing the mother scream about 11:30 a.m.

Sgt. Mike McCune said the death appeared to be accidental, though the Montgomery Coroner's Office said it was not clear what caused the baby to stop breathing.

The mother and father sat on the front lawn while investigators went inside the apartment. They were questioned but do not face any charges at this time, McCune said.
