KETTERING — Kettering College of Medical Arts received a $100,000 grant from the Virginia W. Kettering Foundation.

The award, announced July 1, will be used to buy additional equipment for the Anna May Vaughan Center for Nursing Education.

Kathryn Keyes, director of college development, said the Kettering Medical Center Foundation submitted a grant proposal "to provide the most up-to-date equipment to help its students to provide high-quality health care in the greater Dayton area."

Cherie Rebar, chairwoman of the associate of science in nursing program, said if the 300 associate of science nursing students and 60 bachelor's-completion (BSN) nursing students can learn and refine their skills on up-to-date equipment used in the real clinical setting, they'll be more ready to take that expertise directly into the work environment.
