TROY — A Troy man arrested after police said they found 27 marijuana plants growing in an apartment closet along with packaged marijuana pleaded no contest to two felony charges Monday, July 7.

Karl Beck, 38, was found guilty of attempted trafficking in drugs and attempted cultivation of marjuana during the hearing in Miami County Common Pleas Court.

He made the pleas after a bid for participation in a treatment in lieu of conviction program was denied.

Troy police raided Beck's apartment Jan. 17, saying they found the plants, packaged marijuana and a number of other drugs in a search.

Beck faces up to two years in prison at sentencing Aug. 18. Prosecutors agreed to stand silent at the sentencing.
