HAMILTON — A teenager who was allegedly sexually assaulted by a housemom while in foster care at a Christian group home in Warren County has been found, according to Butler County Children Services.
The 16-year-old boy ran away from foster care in Fairfield Twp. just days after leaving Mid-Western Children's Home in Pleasant Plain, where a 25-year-old woman allegedly had an affair with him.
Children services investigator Garry Day said the boy was found safe at his grandparents' Middletown home this afternoon, July 15.
Carolynn K. Hatcher, 25, with an address listed as Englage Avenue in Loveland, was arrested Monday, July 14, and is charged with six counts of sexual battery. She was arraigned last week before Judge James Flannery, who set bond a $30,000. Her bond was posted this morning, July 15, and she has been released from the Warren County Jail.
A Warren County grand jury returned an indictment against Hatcher — who authorities say is now pregnant by the teen boy — on six counts of sexual battery, a third-degree felony.
Hatcher allegedly carried on a two-month affair with the teen at Mid-Western Children's Home in Pleasant Plain, according to Warren Count officials.
The teen was missing after running away from a foster father, who he was placed with on Friday, July 11, according to Michael Fox, director of Butler County Children Services. The boy and his foster father were on a trip to get ice cream when he ran away, Fox said.
The teen was reported missing to Fairfield Twp. police and that department worked with Butler County Children Services investigator Garry Day to find him.
Hatcher is scheduled to be back in Warren County court Aug. 19 for a pre-trial hearing.
