LEBANON — A car accident caused a gas leak Saturday, July, 19, forcing part of a neighborhood to be evacuated for a short time.

The crash occurred just before 4 p.m. on the Ohio 48 bypass near the intersection with Burt Road. The occupants of the vehicles sustained minor injuries and were not hospitalized but the crash ruptured a gas line, according to Lebanon police.

Houses on the east side of the bypass were evacuated while utility crews made repairs and neighbors were allowed to return to their homes just after 6:30 p.m.
