COLUMBUS — DHL's plans to turn its air-freight operations in Wilmington over to UPS, at the cost of 8,200 jobs, will be the subject of a joint field hearing involving the Ohio legislature.

The session involving the Senate Finance and House State Government and Elections committees is scheduled for Aug. 19 in Wilmington, Senate Finance Committee Chairman John Carey, R-Wellston, said Monday, July 21.

"It's not something we do that often," Carey said of the field hearing.

"It's not something we do frivolously."
