Wednesday, July 23, 2008
Springfield, Ohio — Blood evidence in the Jason Skaggs case will be admitted, Clark County Common Pleas Judge Richard O'Neill ruled Wednesday, July 23.
Skaggs' defense attorney had asked the court to suppress the evidence because his client did not "knowingly, voluntarily and intelligently" give his consent to have his blood drawn, according to court documents.
Jury selection is expected to begin this afternoon.
Skaggs is charged with three counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and two counts of aggravated vehicular assault in connection to the traffic deaths of three Urbana University students last year.
Yan "Zoe" Sun and Bing "Jo" Xue, both 24, and Jin "Jack" Bian, 27, all from China, died in a nine-car pileup at Moorefield and Urbana roads March 8, 2007.
