WEST MILTON — Miami County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a Troy man's complaint he was struck from behind while jogging early Wednesday, Aug. 20, near this western Miami County village.

Derrick Vargo, 18, of Troy claimed he was injured when he was hit by a vehicle that left the scene on Calumet Road, deputies said.

He was taken to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight. The hospital did not have information on his condition Wednesday afternoon, a spokeswoman said.

Sheriff's Capt. Greg Johnston said deputies continued to investigate the complaint and were expected to interview Vargo later Wednesday.
