MASON — The Rotary Club of Mason and Deerfield Twp. is collecting books that will be delivered this fall to libraries in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where rain and flooding earlier this year destroyed school and public libraries.
"Several school libraries were damaged, one was totally lost, and the need for books is great," said club member Norma Berry. "They have a real need for all types of books, especially children's books."
Books can be donated on Saturday, Aug. 23, during the Mason Heritage Festival. Rotary members will have a booth at The Agora bookstore on Main Street at the corner of Mason-Montgomery Road in downtown Mason.
Members of the Mason Deerfield Rotary Club are business and professional leaders who live or work in Mason and Deerfield Twp. as well as nearby communities in Warren, Hamilton, Butler and Clermont counties. They meet at 7:30 a.m. Tuesdays at the Cincinnati Marriott Northeast on Mason-Montgomery Road at I-71 in Deerfield Twp.
