WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE — Base officials are conducting a training exercise through Friday, Sept. 5, meaning it is possible that neighbors may hear muffled booms and announcements coming from the training area.
Most of the readiness exercise will take place at Wright-Patterson's Prime Beef training area, a wooded site near the Huffman Prairie Flying Field, base officials said.
Airmen are undergoing the training to prepare for real-world deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan, base officials said. The public likely won't be aware of most of the training events, officials said.
The base conducted a similar training exercise Aug. 13-15.
