COLUMBUS — Michele G. Wheatly, dean of the College of Science and Mathematics at Wright State University, will be inducted into the Ohio Women's Hall of Fame on Thursday, Sept. 18, Gov. Ted Strickland announced.
Springfield native Caro Bayley Bosca of Clark County, one of the first women to fly during World War II and a former president of the WASP (Women Airforce Service Pilots) club, will be inducted posthumously, Strickland said on Wednesday.
Since moving to Ohio in 1994, Wheatly "has been using her expertise to further the involvement of women in science and mathematics in Ohio," a press release said.
Bosca, the mother of four children, was "a role model for many young women," the release said.
