SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — A Springfield man pleaded not guilty Thursday morning, Oct. 2, to charges that he fled from police and rammed an officer and cruiser with his truck.

Roy E. Murnahan, 35, of 3231 Hustead Road, was arrested on charges of reckless operation, failure to comply and two counts of felonious assault on a police officer, according to court records.

Clark County Municipal Judge Denise Moody set bond at $30,000.

Murnahan allegedly fled from an officer attempting a traffic stop around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, according to court documents.

During the pursuit, Murnahan reportedly halted his vehicle at Damascus Avenue and Portage Path to avoid stop sticks, then reversed his truck and rammed the police cruiser behind him.

Murnahan then drove forward in his truck, striking an officer, according to court records.

Police pursued Murnahan to West Parkwood Drive and South Fountain Avenue, where he was arrested.

Murnahan and two officers were treated for minor injuries and released from Springfield Regional Medical Center, Fountain Avenue campus.

Murnahan was placed in Clark County Jail.
