High temperature could approach record

For the second day in a row, afternoon highs on Monday, Oct. 13, are expected to climb into the low-80s, near record territory, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service projects a high temperature of 83 degrees for Monday, just 3 degrees shy of the record high for Oct. 13 of 86 set in 1975.
On Sunday a high of 83 was just 2 degrees under the 1928 record of 85.
Monday, Columbus Day, will be mostly sunny with a south wind between 6 and 8 miles an hour. The overnight low will be around 58.
Tuesday will be partly sunny with a high near 80. There's a 20 percent chance of showers Tuesday night, and the low is to be about 59.
Temperatures will moderate Wednesday with a high near 73, and the rest of the week will return to more typical fall norms with highs in 60s and lows in the 40s most days through Sunday.
