DAYTON — A Kettering woman who stole money from the Fairmont Athletic Boosters and the Kettering Youth Wrestling Association was sentenced Tuesday, Oct. 14, to probation, not to exceed five years.
Angela Monnin, 49, of 249 Canterbury Drive, was ordered by Montgomery County Common Pleas Court Judge Timothy O'Connell to pay $2,864 in restitution to the Boosters and $2,463 to the wrestling association. Both sanctions included a payment plan of $50 per month.
Monnin, who listed her occupation as a self-employed house cleaner on a police arrest report, declined to speak before the sentencing.
Monnin was indicted on two counts of theft without consent on Aug. 13, according to county court records. She pleaded guilty to the first count, which had to do with the Boosters' theft, on Sept.15. The second count, which has to do with the wrestling association theft, was dismissed.
The thefts occurred while Monnin worked at concession stands during a Feb. 1 basketball game at Trent Arena and another arena event on Feb. 10, according to Kettering police reports.
Kettering Detective Regina Bier said Monnin took a little bit of money at a time and hid it while working the concession stands.
