ATLANTA — An Ohio medical school administrator has been hired to head up the newest campus of the Medical College of Georgia.
College officials announced Wednesday that they have hired Dr. Barbara Schuster from the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University.
Schuster will begin her new job Nov. 1. She will prepare the new Athens, Ga., satellite campus of the Augusta-based Medical College of Georgia for its first class of students, who are expected to enroll in 2010.
The expansion is part of the college's plans to increase its class size 60 percent to 1,200 by 2020 to help address a doctor shortage in Georgia.
