Right now, millions of baseball fans have something else to cheer about in the 2008 World Series: free tacos.

Taco Bell will serve up millions of Americans a free Crunchy Seasoned Beef Taco as part of its "Steal A Base, Steal A Taco" World Series promotion.

Baseball and taco fans alike can get their free taco by visiting a participating Taco Bell restaurant today, October 28, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. No purchase is required, but customers are limited to one free taco per person.

The free tacos are part of a promotion being run by the restaurant. Each World Series game where a player successfully steals a base, Taco Bell will give out free tacos. Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Jason Bartlett stole free tacos for America, as he stole second base in the bottom of the 5th inning of Game 1 at the World Series.

"When I was running back out to the field for defense after the fifth inning, I was told that Taco Bell was going to give everyone in America a free taco," said Bartlett. "The first thing that crossed my mind was all of my buddies back home in California who are probably on their way to Taco Bell that very minute. It's pretty cool. I'm sure I'm going to get more than a few text messages from my friends thanking me for winning them a taco, I guess."

Taco Bell is currently in its fifth year as an Official Sponsor of Major League Baseball.
