KETTERING — Delaware Sen. Joe Biden's appearance here had a bit of a Halloween theme.
Biden, the Democratic vice presidential nominee spoke Friday, Oct. 31, at Kettering Fairmont High School's Trent Arena — the same location of Republican presidential nominee John McCain's rally on Monday.
Biden followed his wife, Jill, to the podium and then laughed and held up a little rat that she'd left on he podium to wish him a Happy Halloween.
Later he stuck with the theme when he taunted McCain.
"John McCain dressed as an agent of change is a costume that just does not fit," declared Biden.
Biden's visit here gives the Miami Valley a look at the final candidate of the big four to appear in the area during this presidential campaign.
McCain/Palin and Obama/Biden are practically camping out in this important battleground state in the final days of the campaign.
Outside the rally, about a dozen Fairmont High School students protested rowdily on a nearby corner. The group, mostly juniors, chanted "Use your brain, vote McCain" and "Nobama" as visitors to the Biden rally left. Two girls had "McCain" written on their bellies.
