The unofficial partial results posted on the Montgomery County Board of Elections web site on Nov. 5 show that Ohio House Speaker Jon Husted appears to be winning the 6th District State Senate seat.

The results exclude Election Day paper ballots.

Husted, R-Kettering, had 89,888 votes versus his Democrat opponent John Doll, who had 56,230 votes as of 1:30 p.m. Nov.5.

Husted, 41, was elected to the House in 2000 and currently represents the 37th District.

Doll, 57, of Washington Twp., has served 16 years on the Centerville City School Board and is a senior partner in Doll, Jansen & Ford, a labor law firm.

Both candidates sought the seat left vacant by Republican Jeff Jacobson, 47, R-Butler Twp., who resigned to become a public policy consultant.

Total votes for this race right now are 146,118.

Only 83 of the 343 precincts in this race had been counted as of midnight.
