Funeral set for teen killed in weekend crash

NEW CARLISLE — Funeral arrangements have been set for a 16-year-old girl who died in a car accident Saturday, Nov. 22.
Amber Cornett, of New Carlisle, died after a three-vehicle crash at state Route 235 and U.S. Route 40 around 10 a.m. Saturday.
She was a Bethel High School student.
Visitation will be held at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar and Fraley Funeral Home, 507 W. Jefferson St., New Carlisle, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25.
The funeral will be Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 11 a.m.
Cornett was a passenger in a Chevy Cavalier driven by Allison Rudd, 16, of Tipp City. Rudd was northbound on Ohio 235 when she ran a red light and was hit by a Ford Ranger pickup truck headed west on 40, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.
Rudd's car spun and hit a second vehicle, the patrol said.
