A roundup of unusual and noteworthy items from area police departments:
ENGLEWOOD — Nov. 20: An officer responded to Wendy's, 606 S. Main Street, after a fight was reported in the parking lot.
One of the male subjects was sitting in the driver's seat of a vehicle when the officer arrived. The vehicle was running, and as the officer approached on foot it began to roll backwards.
The officer knocked on the vehicle and yelled at the subject, who looked at him with a confused expression. He drove over the curb and turned onto Main Street. Other officers arrived and the subject pulled into the lot of Kentucky Fried Chicken. He complied when ordered out of the vehicle, staggering as he did so. There appeared to be urine on his pants and he was difficult to understand.
The officer responded back to Wendy's after getting word that Subject 2 was inside eating. Subject 2 smelled of alcohol and acknowledged he and subject 1 both had been drinking. He also said he walked away when he saw the police arriving in the area. Subject 2 used his cell phone and contacted someone to pick him up after he finished eating. Subject 1 was arrested for operating a vehicle intoxicated and driving under suspension.
