Bank robber who checked in at hotel identified

XENIA — A Cleveland area native has been identified as the man who robbed the bank across the street from the Greene County Sheriff's Office and was quickly arrested at a downtown hotel.
Randall D. McGunia, 24, of Maple Heights near Cleveland, faces a robbery charge after he allegedly held up the Security Bank on Main Street in Xenia on Jan. 2.
No weapon was used and no one was hurt during the robbery.
McGunia was arrested shortly after the robbery at the Holiday Inn just blocks from the bank.
An employee became suspicious and contacted police after McGunia checked in to the hotel with a bag of cash. He eventually surrendered to officers.
McGunia most recently lived at 942 Lexington Avenue in Xenia. He is being held in the Greene County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bond.
