XENIA — Danielle N. Brinser, 20, a senior airman at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, was killed and her passenger injured in a two-car collision Saturday afternoon, March 21, at the intersection of Ohio 444 and Ohio 844 in Bath Twp., according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.
At about 1 p.m., Brinser, originally from Ottumwa, Iowa, was driving a Toyota Yaris southbound from Ohio 844 attempting to cross Ohio 444 on a green light.
A Jeep Cherokee driven by Nicholas C. Hart, 23, of Fairborn westbound on Ohio 444 failed to stop for the red light and struck the Toyota on the driver's side, the patrol report said.
Brinser was pronounced dead at the scene while her passenger, James Brito, also a senior airman at Wright-Patterson, was taken to Miami Valley Hospital, where he was listed in fair condition Sunday, March 22.
Hart was not treated.
The victims were wearing seat belts, according to a patrol report. The crash remains under investigation.
