Big Robot Cafe sets activities

Staff Report

Thursday, March 27, 2008

Big Robot Game Cafe, a new downtown business, will offer activities Saturday, March 29, as an introduction to the community.

The cafe at 114 E. Main St. will hold a game celebration from 1 to 4 p.m.

Extras

Free games will be offered, and participants can play Wii's "Bowling," "Golf," "Guitar Hero III" and "Rock Band."

The Ohio Garrison of Darth Vader's 501st Legion is scheduled to visit during the event. Among the "Star Wars" characters expected to attend are Darth Vader, Storm Troopers, Clone Trooper and others.

The 501st Legion celebrates the "Star Wars" movies through wearing costumers, and charity and volunteer work.

During the event, the group will accept donations to benefit Child Care Choices, a local nonprofit resource and referral agency.

Owner Greg Enslen said Big Robot Game Cafe offers state-of-the-art and console video gaming by the hour, along with board games, card games and a selection of drinks, snacks and merchandise in a coffee house atmosphere.

Two types of gaming are offered: personal and "pods," game areas designed for social, shared experiences. There are three ways to play: guests, members and VIPs.

Guests pay as they go, purchasing machine time by the hour. Members and VIPs set up accounts and can purchase time on their account for their next visit.
