FAIRBORN — Dunbar won the tipoff. Tippecanoe took over from there.
Controlling the tempo with its patient half-court offense and aggressive inside defense, the Red Devils knocked off the Wolverines, 61-49, in a clash of Division II boys high school basketball state hopefuls Monday.

The win over the defending D-II champs came in front of about 8,000 spectators at Wright State's Nutter Center, a majority of them clad in Tipp red.
"We probably had a lot of naysayers," Tipp senior Robert Goldsberry said of the 14-0 Red Devils. "Hopefully, we showed people how Tipp basketball is played."
Dunbar (12-3) got an eyeful.
The Wolverines never had a chance to run like they did in a 66-64 loss to Trotwood-Madison on Saturday.
The Wolverines entered with a definite height advantage inside. But Tipp constantly collapsed on 6-foot-9 Aaron Pogue (seven points). Pogue, battling illness, looked fatigued in the second quarter.
Tipp never trailed and led by as many as 12 three times in the fourth quarter.
Dunbar pulled within 35-31 in the final minute of the third. But Tipp's Kyle Corbin (25 points) and Kellen Zawadzki (19) capped the quarter, and the Wolverines never got within seven points.
Corbin — who scored Tipp's first 13 points — proved to be the game's best interior player with his hard work inside.
Goldsberry added 13 points for Tipp.
"Our kids showed up and competed," Tipp coach Matt Pond said. "I think there will be a lot of people surprised when they see this."
Dunbar's Daquan Walker scored 15 of his 17 points in the second half. Norris Cole II added a steady 16.
