A third bomb threat this school year at Mississinawa Valley High School has prompted a cash reward for information leading to the prosecution of those responsible.

Students and staff were evacuated about 1:40 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, and did not return to class since the incident occurred just prior to normal dismissal, said Det. Sgt. Mark Whittaker of the Darke County sheriff's office.

Extras

The unsubstantiated threat was written in pencil on the wall of a girls' restroom.

The sheriff's office continues to investigate a Feb. 28 bomb threat also written on a bathroom wall at the school on Ohio 47 east of Union City.

Whittaker said he's not sure whether the incidents are related.

A bomb threat on Oct. 16 resulted in criminal prosecution against two high school students.

Those with information can call the sheriff's office at (937) 548-2020 or Darke County Crime Stoppers at (937) 547-1661.
