And on Wednesday, the new Troy Rapid Fired will offer specially priced $5 pizzas to celebrate the Kettering-based chain’s second year in business. The company has opened 20 restaurants in two years, and dozens more are on the way, both inside and outside Ohio.

The new 2,800-square-foot Troy restaurant will seat more than 90.
“The work week is fast-paced, and people need somewhere to go for a quality meal that is quick and affordable at both lunchtime and dinner,” Rapid Fired co-founder Kelly Gray said in a release.

Rapid Fired opened its first restaurant on Ohio 725 in Washington Twp., and has grown rapidly since then. It has signed agreements with developers that could bring as many as 175 more locations to Kentucky, Indiana, North Carolina and South Carolina, company officials announced earlier this year.

Rapid Fired has a quick-service concept, utilizing a serving line in which customers pick out the toppings for their 11-inch thin-crust or 9-inch pan pizza. Diners can choose from eight sauces, eight cheeses, more than 30 toppings, and 19 dipping sauces to build their pizza. Multiple salads as well as breadsticks, “Cini Sticks” and desserts are available at every store. A “Pepsi Spire” provides over 120 drink combinations.
