Apple investigating claim of iPhone 7 Plus exploding

A person is claiming her iPhone 7 Plus exploded recently.

Brianna Olivas, 18, of Tuscon, Arizona, posted a video and photos on Twitter of her phone’s deformed casing.

The video shows Olivas’ rose gold iPhone 7 Plus with a swollen batter and smoke coming out of a crack in the side where screen has come away from the casing of the device.

Apple is investigating the claim that the phone exploded, The Guardian is reporting.

The iPhone incident follows a recall last year from Samsung for the Galaxy Note7. A battery defect in the Note7 caused some of the phones to catch fire or explode.
