1 arrested after shooting in Middletown Elks Club parking lot

Police have arrested one person in connection with multiple shots fired early Sunday morning in the parking lot of the Elks Club in Middletown.

Jaylon Hill, 20, of Kuntz Avenue, was taken into custody this afternoon during a traffic stop at the intersection of 14th Avenue and Yankee Street, according to Middletown police Lt. Jimmy Cunningham.

Hill is facing multiple charges, including two counts of carrying a concealed weapon (loaded), possession of criminal tools and possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle. He is housed in the Middletown City Jail.

Cunningham said other suspects are being sought.

Officers were called to the Elks Lodge on Eighth Avenue at about 12:30 a.m. and found multiple shell casings in the parking lot, according to the police report.

An employee played the security camera video for officers that showed two males shooting at each other. The employee said he heard the shots and called police.

Two silver vehicles were also observed on the tape leaving the scene and a person was seen firing from the open door of a minivan.
