Red Robin pushes back reopening date for Beavercreek restaurant

The Beavercreek Red Robin restaurant damaged by fire more than two months ago this morning pushed back its reopening date by two days to this Friday, Jan. 27.

A Red Robin spokesman last week had announced a Jan. 25 reopening date. No reason was given for the postponement.

The Nov. 11, 2016 fire at the Red Robin at 2671 Fairfield Commons Blvd. near the Mall at Fairfield Commons started in the ventilating hood system over the restaurant’s grills, and ultimately spread to the roof. Flames and dark smoke can be seen shooting through the roof as firefighters battled the blaze.

Initial estimates suggested the restaurant, which employs 80, would be closed four to six weeks, but repairs took longer than expected.

The Red Robin is planning some small-scale, invitation-only events prior to the full opening to the public, Red Robin spokesman Brian Farley told this news outlet last week.

After the reopening, the Red Robin’s hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Farley said a special menu in place through March 19 includes the 360-calorie Avocado Chicken Wedgie — a fire-grilled chicken breast topped with bacon, avocado, tomatoes, red onions and ranch dressing, wrapped in a lettuce wedge bun. The menu also includes the latest burger on Red Robin’s $6.99 “everyday value” menu, the Smoky Jack Tavern Double: two fire-grilled burger patties smothered with Red Robin’s signature Smoky Campfire Sauce, bourbon-infused Whiskey River BBQ sauce and melted Pepper-Jack Cheese, pickles, red onions and lettuce.
