Beavercreek woman cited for OVI in crash into police cruiser

A Beavercreek woman is facing criminal charges for OVI and striking a deputy’s cruiser.

This happened about 2:15 a.m. Monday on West Franklin Street near Ohio 48 in Centerville.

A Montgomery County sheriff’s deputy was in the process of stopping to help a disabled vehicle, when his cruiser was struck from behind, reports indicate.

The woman cited in this case, Olivia M. Bobbio, 25, of Beavercreek, was driving a Fiat 500 when she reportedly struck the cruiser, and then continued to drive off.

Bobbio has charges of OVI and assured clear distance filed against her in Kettering Municipal Court, where she has a hearing Friday.

Bobbio reportedly had a blood-alcohol content of 0.209 — over two times the legal limit. She also failed a field sobriety test, according to police.

Her Fiat 500 was quickly pulled over by a Centerville police officer. She told police she had only had two beers earlier in the night.

News Center 7’s Mike Campbell will have more on this story starting at 5 p.m. on WHIO-TV, including cruiser camera footage.
