Wife injured in gunfight with husband

MORAINE — A woman was inured after she exchanged gunfire with her husband during a domestic dispute on Infirmary Road late Monday, according to police.

  • The incident was reported just before 11 p.m. in the 1400 block of Infirmary Road.
  • A couple had a verbal argument before they fired shots at each other.
  • The wife, who was shot in the shoulder, was transported to Kettering Medical Center.

The woman’s injuries are believed to be non-life threatening, , Moraine Police Sgt. Jon Spencer said. Her husband was not injured during the incident.

Investigators are unclear about who fired the first shot,  and police are trying to determine if anyone fire shots in self-defense. Neither the husband nor the wife have been taken into custody. Charges against either party are pending.

Officers have responded to domestic situations involving the couple at the home in the past, according to police.
