Beavercreek-based defense contractor buys business

MacAulay-Brown, Inc. (MacB), a defense, intelligence and homeland security contractor, has acquired the intellectual property and other assets of the secure computing and communications division (SCC) of Roanoke, Va.-based Luna Innovations Inc.

SCC and its employees will be immediately become part of MacB’s advanced technology group, MacB said in an announcement Monday.

Since 2003, SCC has developed electronic components and has provided technical services for U.S. security needs, Beavercreek-based MacB said.

“The addition of SCC, its product line and highly talented employees is a perfect complement to MacB,” Sid Fuchs, MacB president and chief executive, said in the company’s statement. “The acquisition will deliver immediate benefits to our customers, as well as increase our capabilities and footprint in critical sectors of the intelligence community, DoD and homeland security.”

MacB has up to 600 Dayton-area employees and about 2,000 employees in 20 locations across the nation, from Colorado to Virginia and abroad.
