Bridal shop at The Greene closes; owner unreachable

BEAVERCREEK — A luxury shop that until recently sold high-end wedding gowns has closed its doors and its owner’s whereabouts are unclear.

The Greene received several calls from Bethany’s Bridal and Prom customers who were unsure where to turn for help.

“Our attempts to reach this person have been unsuccessful,” said Lisa Hinson, a spokeswoman for The Greene. “We are trying to be as helpful as we can (since) she hasn’t returned our calls either.”

Among the few remainders of Francesca Bethany Walker’s Plum Street bridal shop are chandelierlike light fixtures and a modern sales counter.

Hinson said Walker opened her bridal salon in October 2008 and vacated the space Jan. 31.

The closing came just a day after Walker was to showcase bridal fashions during an event at the nearby Books & Co. It was not clear if she held the show.

Walker could not be reached Wednesday.

Her shop’s phone has been disconnected and her cell phone voice-mail box was full. She didn’t respond to a text message requesting comment.

During an interview in December, Walker said she decided to open the bridal shop after losing her job when the Delphi plant she worked at closed.

“It is something I’ve always wanted to do,” she said.

Hinson said that The Greene will share Walker’s contact information with those who can prove they have unresolved business with her.
