DAYTON — Area fans of “Dancing With the Stars” and “Modern Family” will continue to enjoy those and other ABC network television shows through August 2015 on WKEF-TV, Channel 22.

Sinclair Broadcasting Group, Inc. announced Friday, March 26, that it had reached an agreement with ABC to renew affiliation agreements for nine of its stations, including Channel 22.

“We’re going to continue to carry the great ABC programming,” said Dean Ditmer, the station’s general manager.

Channel 22 became an ABC station in 2004, when WDTN-TV, Channel 2, dropped its ABC affiliation for NBC.

“That’s been a great switch over for us, when we swapped with WDTN,” Ditmer said.

The affiliation agreement for Sinclair’s nine stations covers approximately 5 percent of the country, according to company officials. Sinclair own and operates, programs or provides sales services to 58 television stations in 35 markets. Sinclair’s television group reaches approximately 22 percent of U.S. households and is affiliated with all major networks.
