Clear Channel CEO resigns

Clear Channel Communications Inc., which operates several radio stations in the Dayton area, is searching for a new chief executive following the resignation of Mark P. Mays, the company announced Wednesday, June 23.

Mays resigned as president and chief executive, but will continue to serve as chairman of the board, the company said. Mays will continue to lead the company until a new president and CEO is named. That’s expected to occur later this year, the company said.

Mays has spent 21 years at the San Antonio, Texas-based company, including the last six as president and chief executive.

Clear Channel operates seven stations in the Dayton market. They are WDKF-FM 94.5, WDSJ-FM 106.5, WLQT-FM 99.9, WMMX-FM 107.7, WONE-AM 980, WTUE-FM 104.7, WXEG-FM 103.9
