Coalition: UAS conference to return to Dayton in 2013

Staff Report

The Ohio UAS Conference will return to Dayton in 2013, the Dayton Development Coalition said Friday.

The conference will return April 23-25 to Sinclair Community College, the coalition added.

Hosted by the coalition with the Ohio Aerospace and Aviation Council, the 2012 conference focused on unmanned aircraft systems and featured industry experts as well as representatives from government and industry.

“The Dayton Development Coalition is extremely excited to once again host the 2013 Ohio UAS Conference in Dayton and on the campus of Sinclair Community College,” Maurice “Mo” McDonald, the coalition’s vice president of military affairs and conference chair, said in an announcement from the coalition. “The UAS activity throughout the Dayton region makes this the perfect location to represent Ohio to a national and international audience.”

The first conference was in April at Sinclair. Experts have told the Dayton Daily News that UAS could become an $80 billion industry in the next decade.
