DAYTON — The owners of Coco’s Bistro have pushed back the opening of their new location for one week, according to co-owner Karen Wick-Gagnet.
The restaurant’s current location at 515 Wayne Ave. will now stay open through Saturday night Nov. 3, and the new Coco’s Bistro at 250 Warren St. will host a “building christening” at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, Wick-Gagnet said. The relocated restaurant will open for lunch a half-hour after the christening for its first full day of business.
Wick-Gagnet said the “inspection timeline was a little too compressed” to open the new restaurant on the previously announced Oct. 29. “Rather than create stress for our family, staff, contractors and (inspectors), we decided to back off the date,” she said.
The move has been in the works since 2009, and the total cost of the renovation, site preparation and relocation project is likely to exceed $1 million, Wick-Gagnet said earlier this month.
