DAYTON — Coco’s Bistro will host a “building christening” at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 29 at its new location at 250 Warren St. as part of the restaurant’s move from its current location at 515 Wayne Ave., co-owner Karen Wick-Gagnet said this morning.

An open house is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 27, two days prior to the full opening of the new location, said Wick-Gagnet, who owns Coco’s Bistro with her husband, Jim Gagnet. Representatives of the city of Dayton, Miami Valley Hospital, the University of Dayton and Goodwill Easter Seals, which is building an $11 million human services center nearby, will be invited to the building christening.

The move — which has been in the works since 2009 — has several advantages, including more parking, a special events room, expanded Saturday hours, and easier highway access, the restaurant’s owners have said. The total cost of the project is likely to exceed $1 million, Wick-Gagnet said earlier this month.
