Conference spotlights Ohio investment opportunities

By Dave Larsen

A national conference will highlight investment opportunities in Ohio from Oct. 15-17 in Cleveland.

The 19th annual National Association of Seed and Venture Funds (NASVF) conference will feature more than 300 industry professionals, who will discuss strategies and tools for building and managing strategic investment programs and institutions.

The NASVF conference will be the first held since the group moved its offices to Cleveland from Philadelphia earlier this year. The organization moved to Ohio in part because of the state’s successful Third Frontier innovation investment program, officials said.

The event is geared toward seed investors, technology commercialization managers, and accelerator and incubator managers.

The keynote speakers include Steve Case, chairman and chief executive of Revolution, and a co-founder of America Online; Katie Rae of Boston’s TechStars; Chuck Templeton, founder of Open Table; and Seth Greene, associate administrator and special advisor for innovation for the U.S. Small Business Association.

Breakout sessions will focus on funding and growing young technology companies.

Registrations is $695 for NASVF members; $895 for non-members; and $350 for students. To register, visit the group’s web site at nasvf.org.
