Cox Ohio offers voluntary plan for retirement-age employees

By Staff Report

Cox Ohio Publishing offered a voluntary plan for retirement-eligible employees Wednesday, July 29.

The plan is for employees who meet age and service requirements. Employees would not have to retire, rather they would have opportunity to resign and retain their retiree benefits, according to information from the company.

Only a select group of employees are eligible for the voluntary plan. Sept. 14 is the deadline for employees to apply for the plan.

The plan will help the company reshape its work force to better respond to the evolving way people access and use the company’s daily and weekly newspapers and news, information and advertising Web sites, said Emily Chambers, vice president of human resources for Cox Ohio Publishing and the Dayton Daily News, in the release.
