Dayton chamber lands 5-star status

Staff Report

DAYTON – The Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce has achieved five-star accreditation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the local organization said.

Sixty-seven chambers, or less than 1 percent of the nation’s chambers, have received this accreditation, said officials with the Dayton Chamber, which last had a five-star accreditation in 2005.

The accreditation recognizes chambers for their effective organizational procedures and community involvement, a news release states. Organizations must undergo an extensive nine-month examination that looks at such areas as governance and technology, the release states.

“This is a tremendous honor for our chamber and a tribute to the outstanding quality and dedication of the chamber team,” Phil Parker, DACC’s president said in a statement.
