Development summit prompts questions on taxes, capital

DAYTON — State and local development officials explained business financing and other programs available to businesses and also listened to the concerns of entrepreneurs during a summit Wednesday, Jan. 27.

The two-hour summit sponsored by the Ohio Treasury and the Better Business Bureau of Dayton was held at the Entrepreneurs Center, 714 E. Monument Ave.

Business owners in the audience expressed concerns over what they see as taxes hindering the growth of their enterprises and also difficulties in getting capital they need to expand.

Officials from the state’s treasury, the Ohio Department of Development, Montgomery County and the Small Business Administration were among the panelists who fielded questions from the audience.
