Donet to move into new $1.85M facility

By Dave Larsen

A local information technology firm will move this month into a new $1.85 million facility in downtown Dayton.

The administrative staff of Donet, a Dayton-based Internet services provider, will occupy the firm’s new 12,000-square-foot space at 130 W. Second St. on Oct. 29. After the administrative move, the firm will start moving equipment from its current data center on West First Street, officials said.

Company officials said they will do everything they can to limit or eliminate service interruptions of any kind.

The centerpiece of Donet’s new facility is a 5,000-square-foot data center and supporting mechanical space, which is four times larger than the firm’s current 1,250-square-foot data center.

Donet officials in February announced that they had signed a long-term lease fully occupy the entire second floor mezzanine of the West Second Street building with 12,000 square feet of space. Another 1,000 square feet in the basement will be used to house the firm’s UPS equipment and a generator transfer switch to provide continuous power, officials said.

Donet launched in 1995 and has about 15 employees.
