DAYTON — Grandview Medical Center is the only local hospital named to HealthGrades’ list of “America’s 50 Best Hospitals,” which was released Wednesday.
The list was based on an analysis of more than 140 million Medicare patient records from 1999 through 2009, according to a news release.
Hospitals must have had risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates in the top 5 percent in the nation for the most consecutive years. On average, HealthGrades claims hospitals on the list had a nearly 30 percent lower risk of death and 3 percent lower rate of complications.
