Home building permits rise

Through June, Dayton-area builders pulled 714 permits for single family homes, up 21.6 percent from 587 during the first six months of 2011, the Home Builders Association of Dayton reported Friday.

Combining single family, apartment and condo units, a total of 209 residential new building permits were issued for June 2012, up 3 percent from 203 permits issued in June 2011, and up 68.4 percent from the 143 issued in June 2010.

Montgomery County had 99 permits for June,including 60 rent-to-own units with in the city of Dayton. The county had a total of 244 for year to date. Greene County had 24 in June for a total of 136 for year to date.

• Washington Trace in Montgomery County has pulled 17 permits this year.

• Carriage Trails in Miami County has pulled 48 permits this year.

• Waterford Landing in Fairborn, Greene County has pulled 25 permits year to date.

• Winding Creek Village in Clearcreek Township, Warren County has pulled 24 permits in the first six months of 2012.
