Industrial and warehouse vacancies have risen in the Dayton area, with a quarter million square feet going dark, according to a survey.
Industrial vacancies climbed to 24.8 percent this year, compared to 23.5 percent a year ago, according to a survey by Gem Real Estate Group. The information was collected in the second quarter of this year, the research and brokerage firm said.
The south Dayton market experienced the largest influx of space, adding about 515,000 square feet of empty space, according to the survey. The south market includes Centerville, Franklin, Kettering, Miamisburg, Moraine, Miami Twp., Springboro and parts of Dayton.
Dayton’s east market – Beavercreek, Xenia and parts of Dayton – reported nearly 164,000 square feet went empty, the survey found.
