KETTERING — Four Kettering Health Network hospitals ranked among the top 32 performing hospitals in a voluntary, three-year project that included 157 nonprofit hospitals in 31 states, according to a prepared release from QUEST, a Premier Healthcare Alliance program.
The four hospitals — Kettering, Grandview, Sycamore and Southview medical centers — ranked among the top 10 for best risk-adjusted mortality rates, according to the press release. Grandview/Southview ranked second overall in that category.
Sycamore Medical Center also scored well with its cost per discharge of $4,310, which was $1,430 lower than the average hospital in its group, QUEST said.
QUEST uses data on participating hospitals from Premier, which is owned by nonprofit hospitals. Premier claims it maintains the nation’s most comprehensive repository of clinical, financial and outcomes information. The findings are risk-adjusted to ensure fair comparisons.
About 97 percent of U.S. hospitals did not participate in the QUEST project, according to Premier.
